March 2019 Newsletter

We are so pleased to be able to send you our next edition of our newsletter!  Thank you for subscribing.  We are happy to have you as part of our family and look forward to us getting to know each other better.  Be sure to let us know you saw this letter on your next visit and you may find yourself with a tasty treat just for you!

We have had a wonderful begining to our year and hope that you have as well.  January and February brought us many extra events and March seems to be following suit.  If you didn't get the chance to participate in our Valentines Day Dinner, don't worry.  We have more special event days just around the corner.  Believe it or not, we received our first Mother's Day reservation just this week.  Scott has begun the process of creating some new dishes for that special brunch and it already has mouth's here watering.  Look for a sneak peak in next month's newsletter.

March brings the begining of daylight savings time.  Are you ready?  Remember to set your clocks ahead one hour before bed on Saturday March 9th and get ready for your biological clocks to be a little out of wack for about a week.  Is there anything you do in addition to changing your clocks and whining about how tired you are like we do?  As we head into spring, we believe it is helpful to eat good food, get rest, and drink plenty of water.  Our Chicken Spinach Salad seems to already be on people's minds at lunch.  It has grilled chicken, fresh baby spinach leaves, boiled eggs, red onion, and sliced mushrooms all tossed in a house made hot bacon viniagrette.  Mmm mmm good.

One of our newest farmers is Lost Woods in West End, NC.  They are happily providing us with some of the most beautiful pearl oyster mushrooms you have ever seen.  The abundance of rain certainly hasn't hurt these beauties.  Scott has been using them in soup, ragout, sauces, and specials.  Once they arrive in our building, they don't last long.  So the next time you see that we are featuring Moore County mushrooms, know that you are in for a treat!
